Issues logging into Backup-Guard after upgrading to Wordpress v6.2

We have received reports of issues logging into the Backup-Guard legacy plugin after updating WordPress to v6.2 or greater.

This is likely due to WordPress.Org removing/deprecating a function that was being used by Backup-Guard Legacy to log in starting with WordPress v6.2. We have not received reports of issues prior to v6.2 and you should still be able to access the legacy product on v6.1 or earlier using your Backup-Guard credentials.

As the Backup-Guard Legacy product is no longer supported your options include the following:

  • Renew your Legacy Backup-Guard plugin as JetBackup for WordPress (PRO/ADMIN/SOLO) and continue to receive the latest updates for WordPress version compatibility and 24/7 technical support.

  • Continue using WordPress v6.1 until you'd like to renew, as WordPress has traditionally backported security updates to older versions, but stops active support/feature development.

If you require assistance with purchasing or renewing a JetBackup for WordPress license, our support team is always available.
